How do storage, credits, and plan limits work together?
Understand how Air's storage, monthly credits, and plan limits work together in your workspace.

Air plans use a unified credit system instead of traditional, rigid storage quotas (like a fixed TB limit). Your credits act as a live monthly balance that continuously dynamically draws from three areas:
- Basic Storage
- AI Enrichment
- AI Generation
Credit Cycles & Empty Balances
- Continuous Recalculation: Credits track active monthly usage, not the total historical data you've uploaded. If you delete assets mid-cycle, those credits are instantly returned to your balance.
- Monthly Reset: Credits refresh at the start of your monthly cycle and do not roll over. Stored and enriched assets will immediately begin drawing from your new monthly balance.
- Running Out of Credits: If your balance hits zero, you won't be able to upload new files or generate AI content. However, your account is not locked—you can still browse, search, share links, and add users.
➕ Increasing Your Credit Capacity
If you run out of credits, you have three main options to get more capacity:
- Delete Assets: Free up space to instantly return credits to your cycle.
- Upgrade Your Plan: Move to a higher-credit plan tier.
- Add Credit Packs: Eligible paid workspaces can purchase self-serve recurring Credit Packs.
- Increments: Sold in blocks of 1,000 credits (up to 9,000 additional credits max).
- Additions: Applied via checkout immediately with prorated pricing.
- Reductions/Cancellations: Managed via your settings. They are not prorated and will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
🎁 One-Time Gift Credits
Sometimes Air staff will grant standalone gift credits. These behave differently than standard credits:
- AI Generation Only: Gift credits can only be used for AI generation. They cannot be used for storage, uploads, or enrichment.
- Usage Priority: They are automatically used before your regular plan credits or Credit Packs.
- No Expiration/Impact: They do not change your regular subscription pricing, do not reset monthly, and do not provide extra baseline upload capacity if your main account is maxed out.
👥 Users, Legacy Plans, and Admin Controls
- Unlimited Users: Adding users does not increase your price on current paid plans; they include unlimited users at no extra cost.
- Legacy Workspaces: Older, legacy plans may continue to show fixed storage limits or user caps until the workspace upgrades to a current plan.
- Where to Check Your Status: Admins can view exact live usage, limits, and your exact monthly reset date by going to Workspace Settings → Current Plan.
