If Air Flow is not working on your desktop, try the steps below to troubleshoot, isolate the issue, and get back to work.
After each step, check if the issue is resolved.

- If it’s still there, move on to the next step
- If you are seeing the same error but a different board path shows, retry or redo the step that resolved the error of the previous path

---

# 🆕 Upgrade to the latest version of Air Flow

---

# 🎬 Restart Air Flow

**_Note:_** _There’s_ **_no risk_** _to restarting the app. All Air Flow processes will restart and pick up syncing where it last left off._

1. Right-click the Air icon in your menu bar
2. Click “Quit Air”
3. Reopen Air Flow from Applications folder

---

# ♻️ Retry

**_Note:_** _There’s_ **_no risk_** _to selecting retry. This action tells Air's app to continue running as it is supposed to._

Give the action another go by pressing the “Retry” button in the sync error pop-up.

---

# ☁️ Replace the item in the sync error pop-up from cloud

__ **_Note:_** _If there are any_ **_unsaved local changes_** _for this item, they will be overwritten by the current version of this item in the workspace. To avoid loss of changes, save a copy of any locally stored/created items to a location outside of the Air workspace folder first._

Change out the erroring item by pressing the “Replace from cloud” button in the sync error pop-up.

---

# 🚨 Replace your local workspace

**_Note:_** _This action fetches the full current state and the local filesystem of the syncing Air workspace and attempts to sync any differences. This_ **_may take longer on large workspaces_** _. This action can_ **_also risk data loss if there are any unsaved local changes_** _in the workspace. To avoid loss of changes, save a copy of any locally stored/created items to a location outside of the Air workspace folder first. Use this step to repair local sync state._

Change out the entire workspace by pressing the “Replace local workspace” button in the sync error pop-up.

**OR**

1. Select the Air icon in your menu bar
2. Select the gear icon
3. Select **Force resync**
4. Select **Resync**

---

# 🧹 Force resync with local data wipe

**_Note:_** _This action fetches the full current state of the syncing Air workspace and attempts to sync any differences.

**OR**

1. Select the Air icon in your menu bar
2. Select the gear icon
3. Select **Force resync**
4. Check the box to delete all local data and restart the local sync for the workspace
5. Select **Resync**

---

# 🚫 Delete the workspace folder from Finder and select “Pull from cloud” when prompted

**_Note:_** _This action can risk data loss. To avoid loss of changes, save a copy of any locally stored/created items to a location outside of the Air workspace folder first._

1. Move or delete your entire workspace folder (i.e the
`{User}/Air/{Workspace Name}` folder on your computer) out of the root Air folder.
2. Click the “Pull from cloud” button in the sync status bar when prompted.
